Curling rocks weigh up to 42 pounds, or 19 kilo's, but the good news is we don't lift them any more.

Our arena is heated to a very comfortable 40 degrees F or 4 degrees C

Curling is played on ice, so it is hard and cold

Loose or stretchy clothing is recommended and layer your clothing as sweeping does make you warm.  Jeans are not recommended but Lululemons are.

Comparing hockey ice to curling ice is similar to comparing a putting green to a shuffle board table.  Curling ice is very flat and textured with pebble(small beads of frozen water).   This reduces the friction on the bottom of the rock and allows it to slide down the ice easier.

Our lounge/restaurant upstairs is fully licensed and is the hub of all activity at the Kelowna Curling Club.  It has 2 dart boards, a shuffle board, ping pong table, pool table and curling table, as well as a huge projection screen TV.  Our lounge is only accessible to curlers and their guests who are 19 or older after 10:00pm, but BEFORE 10:00 ALL AGES are welcome.  Fortunately, Kevin our Chef is awesome and we have lots of great homemade foods to offer, and an amazing selection of beers, wines and spirits.
